Staycation Officially Becomes a Word

The staycation has been a popular trend during this decade, first after 9/11 due to security concerns, and recently due to the economic downturn. Today, it's become more than a slang term and trend as Merriam-Webster added staycation to its collegiate dictionary, defining it as "a vacation spent at home or nearby."

While spell-check prompts might not recognize it yet, we're glad to see this trend get its proper due. Since Center'd aims to help you plan life's activities and find things to do in your local area, we've long been fans of the staycation. In case you haven't checked them out yet, our new local city guides are a good resource for planning staycations and can help you find activities based on your intent, like romantic, outdoor, or kid-friendly.

Charlotte, NC City Guide Released

We just released a city guide for Charlotte, NC, where you can find things to do with our “flavored local” technology. Charlotte joins 15 other city guides that help people discover local attractions, events, and places based on intent styles such as romantic, kid friendly, and cheap, to name a few. Center'd CEO Named to Silicon Valley Business Journal's "40 Under 40"

Jennifer Dulski Named to Silicon Valley Business Journal's Our own Jennifer Dulski recently made the annual "40 Under 40" list published by the Silicon Valley Business Journal. According to the Journal, they looked for people "who were not only successful in their professional lives but gave back to the community in their personal lives."

The Journal article highlights Jennifer's leadership at Center'd and our mission to help people find things to do based on intent, as well as her contributions to the community which include founding an educational non-profit in Pittsburgh, PA.
